We specialise in costs issues arising from all types of non contentious business and contentious civil proceedings, from both a claimant and defendant perspective. We also deal with disputes in relation to solicitor client billing and the assessment of Court of Protection costs.
Areas in which we specialise include:-
- Advising on all technical issues, including those relating to additional liabilities, funding arrangements and retainers.
- Preparation of schedules of costs for allocation, listing and summary assessment
- Preparation of formal bills of costs for details assessment
- Preparation of points of dispute and replies
- Advising on settlement parameters and dealing with negotiations on contentious costs issues
- Attending detailed assessment hearings, whether on matters we have previously dealt with or on an agency basis
- Providing training in the form of workshops and seminars in respect of costs law and best practice
Our specialist team has over 40 years experience of dealing with legal costs law. All members of our team are members of the Association of Law Costs Draftsman and we attend regular training courses and updates to ensure we are fully up to date with this rapidly changing area of law.
