Our experience and expertise means that we can think laterally and creatively to provide solutions tailored to your situation. Our close working relationships with other advisors are such that we are up to speed with current tax planning ideas.
Our services focus on three main areas:
• Tax compliance
• Advisory work
• Trusts and accounting services
Tax compliance
We undertake tax returns for individuals, trustees and executors of estates, and the quantity we undertake, allied with the size of the team, makes us one of the largest wealth management tax practices around. There is a real commitment to training and technology here too, and this is reflected in our speed and efficiency.
Ensuring your tax filing obligations are met as quickly and effectively as possible is paramount but we look on this as more than just a process. We will also review your affairs to ensure you are making the most of your allowances whist also looking at ways to mitigate tax.
Advisory work
Our advisory work for individuals, trustees and partnerships centres on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. However, the issues on which we advise generally cover more than just tax and we usually work with colleagues in Wealth Management Legal, Investments & Pensions and the corporate department to provide you with an integrated approach.
We will not push particular tax planning schemes at you. We are not salespeople who are paid by commission - we charge hourly rates often with maximum fixed fees.
We prefer to get a full picture of your agenda and where tax fits in with your list of priorities first, and then work to get the legal and tax framework right to enable you to do what you wish with your money and your life.
This means we can produce more varied solutions, focused on your specific needs. We are also happy to work with your own existing advisors.
Typical issues we can advise on include capital gains tax planning for business owners wishing to sell their companies, inheritance tax planning, advice to employers on employee tax issues and real estate tax planning.
