- Charlotte specialises in both commercial and residential property matters. Her expertise includes dilapidations claims, contested lease renewals, removal of trespassers from land, adverse possession issues, easements, and general landlord and tenant issues.
Charlotte specialises in all Housing related matters for both Local Authorities and Housing Associations. Her experience includes applying for and obtaining Anti-Social Behaviour Orders in both the Magistrates and County Courts; obtaining Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions; removal of trespassers from both residential and commercial properties; possession claims based on nuisance and other grounds; defending mass housing disrepair claims on behalf of social landlords; adverse possession claims, and succession issues amongst other matters. She regularly provides general advice to her social housing clients as well as delivering bespoke client training in this area and lecturing on Housing and housing related issues to CIH members.
Charlotte acts and has acted for Birmingham City Council, Leeds City Council, Doncaster MBC, Northumberland County Council, South Tyneside MBC, North Tyneside Council, Blyth Valley Housing Limited, Carlisle Housing Association, Tristar Homes Ltd, Endeavour Housing Association, Cheviot Housing Association and Home Group. The instructions received have covered all of the previously mentioned areas.
Charlotte is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the National and London Housing and Disrepair Forum, together with hosting the Northern Branch of the Housing Forum on a quarterly basis. She is the editor of the Housing Despair? Newsletter for the team as well as the more general public sector newsletter LA Law.
Charlotte read English Literature and Linguistics at College Cardiff, University of Wales before taking the Common Professional Exam qualifying as a solicitor. She trained in Newcastle and spent several years in Yorkshire and the North East as a commercial litigator before joining Dickinson Dees and specialising in Property Litigation.
