Expertise

    George qualified as a Scottish Solicitor and worked as a Court Assistant with Caeser and Howie, West Lothian until joining a predecessor firm of Ernst and Young in 1985. There he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked as a Senior Tax Manager. George joined Dickinson Dees in 1994 and became a partner in 1997. He was Head of the Private Client Department from November 1998 until April 2005 and has returned to a client handling role with a marketing responsibility for the Department.

    George specialises in the taxation of private individuals, family companies, partnerships and trusts and has particular experience in capital tax planning. He provides strategic advice to both businessmen and women and deals with a number of individuals with substantial land interests. He is also an advisor to many charitable bodies and individuals on charity law and related issues. He acts as a professional trustee on a number of both private and charitable trusts.
