Expertise

    Jonathan heads the firm’s energy and utilities group and advises on a full range of energy-related contracts and regulatory issues, particularly in relation to electricity and gas supply agreements, connection and transportation agreements and energy trading contracts. He has also been closely involved with the financing of energy and other projects including power stations and combined heat and power projects. He also provides general corporate advice and financial services regulatory advice, particularly to companies in the energy sector. He previously worked for Linklaters in the City and Hong Kong.

 

Experience

Relevant experience includes: advising CE Electric in relation to a wide range of industrial, commercial and energy related agreements and related regulatory issues;

advising landowners and developers on landfill gas generation projects and other renewable energy projects including windfarms;

advising Northern Electric in relation to the split of its supply and distribution businesses by means of a scheme made under the Utilities Act 2000;

part of a team advising a major electricity generator on the impact of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA) on its existing contractual and project finance framework;

advising on Grid Trade Master Agreements for a range of suppliers and other participants in the electricity trading markets;

advising gas suppliers and customers on a wide range of gas purchase agreements, including trading contracts and take or pay agreements.
