Expertise

Nigel is the head of the Residential Investments Team at Dickinson Dees. Nigel’s Team acts for several residential investment organisations, including grainger plc, for whom he is the Client Partner. Nigel has recently returned to the Team, after spending 8 years building up the Firm’s Volume Business Team, which rebranded to d3 legal in 2008. At its peak, the Volume Business employed 250 people and had a turnover of £8 million. Nigel oversaw the successful disposal of d3 legal in November 2008. Prior to setting up Volume Business, Nigel specialised in all areas of residential investment work, including large scale portfolio acquisitions and disposals, together with all aspects of enfranchisement transactions.

Experience

During his time with d3 legal, Nigel pioneered the commoditisation of legal services, primarily through the extensive use of IT. He launched the Firm’s HIP product, Ownership, in 2006, and built a team which became the largest Solicitor HIP provider. He has been involved with PISCES since its formation, and is the Firm’s representative. He is a member of the Law society’s E-conveyancing Taskforce, and is a keen advocate of the systemisation of legal services, and the opportunities that the Legal Services Act could bring. He is a graduate of the CBI’s Future Leaders programme, and was named as one of the “Rising Stars Future Leaders in the North East” in 2008.
