    Before joining the Commercial Services Team in July 2001, Peter worked as an in–house lawyer in the chemical sector. Initially this involved working for a number of ICI’s international speciality chemicals businesses. He was subsequently Global Legal Manager for ICI’s Acrylics business following its sale to Ineos. Since his return to private practice Peter has maintained his focus on working with chemicals and pharmaceuticals manufacturing companies. He now advises businesses both large and small operating in a wide range of sectors with respect to their strategic projects and day to day activities. With his previous industry experience he offers practical support and assistance in relation to all manner of commercial arrangements, including purchasing, manufacturing, sales, collaborative R&D, licensing and other ancillary activities.

 

Experience

Huntsman

Peter advises businesses within the Huntsman Group in relation to a broad mix of commercial contracts. In conjunction with our Corporate Department, Peter also advised Huntsman with respect to the £415m sale of the base chemicals and polymers business to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

px Limited

Peter advised px in relation to a unique deal involving the management and maintenance of a new UK facility constructed by Texan based Excelerate Energy to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Excelerate’s customised vessels enabling the delivery of natural gas into the UK’s national grid. Peter also advises the px Group in relation to the drafting and negotiating of a broad range of commercial agreements relating to their strategic projects and their operation and maintenance of power stations generally.

SABIC

Peter advised SABIC with respect to the negotiation of agreements for the supply of utilities to the world’s largest low density polyethylene facility to be constructed at the Wilton International chemical complex on Teesside.

Shasun Pharma Solutions

Peter leads the team advising Shasun which replaces the resource previously available to the business from the Rhodia in-house legal team before the sale of the operations in 2006. The Dickinson Dees LLP team provide advice and support in relation to a wide range of product development and supply agreements and other commercial arrangements.

Innovia Films

Peter provides legal advice and support to Innovia in relation to the full range of issues affecting the business’s global operations, including product supply and purchase agreements and joint development agreements. Together with other members of the Chemicals Group, Peter and the team have effectively replaced the resource previously available from the in-house legal team following the sale of the business by UCB.
