    Will specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency. He advises banks and other financial institutions; management and investors of financially distressed businesses; and, insolvency practitioners and other turnaround specialists engaged in restructuring and recovery assignments.

    Will has advised on a wide range of corporate restructuring and insolvency assignments including:

    • advising a UK clearing bank on an exit strategy in relation to its £150 million stakeholding in a chemicals company;
    • advising a leading US based international sportswear manufacturer on a £17 million retention of title claim;
    • advising UK based EMEA directors in connection with US parent company insolvency proceedings;
    • advising secured creditors of a national retail group; and
    • acting for liquidators of a UK bank in proceedings brought in New York against a US-based global banking group.

    Will’s non-insolvency related assignments include:

    • acting for RBS Invoice Finance and The Royal Bank of Scotland in relation to the refinancing of an aluminium metal distributor to the European aerospace industry (the refinancing included acquisition finance for the buyback of 50% of the company's shares together with a working capital facility; total funding amounted to £54 million which included an invoice discounting facility of £25 million and an inventory facility of £10 million); and

    • advising on corporate demergers pursuant to section 110 of the Insolvency Act 1986.
